Community

Serving the Community by creating a better design environment

The College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati has as its primary mission the creation of a better visual and design environment. Through excellence in educational programs, research, creative works, and service to the community, the faculty, the students, and administrative officers of DAAP are dedicated to achieve this mission.

DAAPcamps

DAAPcamps are week-long immersions for high school and middle school students to explore their creative passion areas and expand their skills in specific disciplines. ⁣

Each day at camp includes time spent in the studio, on field trips, and social activities for the perfect mix of practice and inspiration.

DAAPcares

DAAPcares honors and supports the work of DAAP students, faculty, staff, and alumni to improve the quality of life around the world. From local to global, individual to multidisciplinary, and academic to professional - we connect scholarship to solutions. These accomplishments are celebrated annually in a showcase of innovative projects and research that represent our mission to achieve sustainable outcomes with environmental, economic, and cultural equity.

DAAP Equity & Inclusion Community

As creative practitioners, we engage in conversations every day that cross boundaries and connect communities, locally, nationally, and worldwide. We recognize that the same skills of active reflection and engaged action that continually reinvent our experience of the world also serve the broader goal of participating in the creation of a vibrant, just society in which all members of our community are valued.

Saturday Art Program

The Saturday Art Program at DAAP is for children and adolescents from the Greater Cincinnati community. Saturday Art integrates the act of making meaning with the world in which we live and embraces a diversity of ages, aptitudes, age-related developmental levels, and social cultural perspectives.
