Cost of Attendance and Finances
Financial Aid
Students who attend the University of Cincinnati are encouraged to apply for financial aid. The Student Financial Aid Office is committed to making education as affordable as possible. Every effort will be made to identify university, federal and state resources to assist both undergraduate and graduate students in fulfilling their educational goals.
We encourage each student to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Because some aid programs are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, apply as soon as possible after October 1 of each year for priority consideration.
Tuition and program fees
Review information about the most current tuition costs and college program fees. Some residents outside of Ohio quality for reciprocity or metropolitan tuition rates based on program, county of residence and application approval. There are program exclusions, so please carefully review the information.
In order to provide students with the highest quality education, the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) operates at the cutting edge with respect to integrating technology in studio-based curricula. We aim to provide our students access to resources like the Computer Graphics Center, Rapid Prototyping Center, Build Lab, and photo facilities, which allow them to create better art, designs, products, spaces, and environments. Providing this level of technological sophistication comes at a substantial cost. To help maintain the level of service required to sustain superior facilities and equipment, DAAP has a program fee. Many design and art institutions have similar fees to cover the expenses inherent in studio-based programs.
Scholarships
DAAP offers scholarships each spring for current, returning students. Those students are notified by email when the application is open. Incoming first-year students who apply before the December 1 deadline will be considered for University scholarships. Please view the Financial Aid website for available scholarships.
Computer Requirements
DAAP students are required to have their own computer. Each program has different specified computer requirements, which are updated each summer.
Materials and Supplies Cost
Students are recommended to budget approximately $25 per week for studio materials and supplies. Foundation supply lists are provided at Orientation.
