Build Lab

The DAAP Build Lab occupies over 4,000 square feet and has a wide range of equipment. It includes an area for the Sambur Shop, a set of tools and equipment donated to the industrial design program. There is adequate lighting, ventilation, and protective gear to assure a safe environment.

The DAAP Build Lab offers tools for wood and metal working, as well as a welding area and a foundry. The wood working area features circular saws, jigsaws, belt sanders, and more. The metal working area includes milling machines, lathes, and bandsaws. The welding area has two mig welders, a tig welder, and two plasma cutters. Students can also check out tools.

Certification is required for students to use the shop, and proper safety equipment must be worn at all times.
